5 Tips to Boost Facebook Engagement

In this day and age, brands can no longer ignore the need for a social media presence. With over 1 billion users, Facebook can hold great potential for your brand. But without without an effective social media strategy, you might as well be invisible. The more your followers engage with your content, the more it will appear in their News Feed. Consistently engaging with your audience will improve your average click-through rate

So, how do you go beyond driving traffic to your page? How do you keep them coming back? Here are a few tips to help boost your social media presence and better engage your audience:

1.      Know Your Audience:

First and foremost, you need to know who your readers are. Knowing your audience can help you to craft your content according to what your readers are looking for. Are primarily in a B2B market or are you marketing directly to consumers?

A great way to find out more about your audience and which type of content sticks with them is to test it out. Post a variety of content and see what generates the most interaction.

 2.      Timing

In social media marketing, timing is key. It’s important to find a balance between being virtually nonexistent and annoying your readers. You want to provide enough content to stay in the mind of the reader, but if you post too frequently, you can start to annoy your reader. Annoying your reader could lead to them hiding your posts, or unfollowing you altogether.

It’s also important to know when your audience is online and most likely to engage with your brand. You might have low engagement simply because you’re posting content while your audience isn’t around.

3.      Variety

Variety is not only the spice of life, but it’s an important ingredient in creating social media engagement. Keep your audience interested with a variety of content. Mix up your posts with links, images, videos, and status updates. Variety can help increase engagement with users that don’t have the time to read a story you’ve posted, but they have time to look at a photo.

4.      Brand Personality

Social media amplifies, or often creates, a voice for your brand. It helps the consumer feel that they’re interacting with a person who cares rather than a faceless corporation.

It’s important that your voice reflect your brand identity and that it’s consistent. Posting content that makes sense for your brand and that’s relevant to your community will help boost your engagement.

5.      Call to Action

Just because people are following you, doesn’t mean they’re automatically going to click on everything you provide. If you tell your readers what you want them to do, it can help to increase your engagement. Tell your users whether you want to hear what they have to say, share your posts, or provide information.
