Facebook has announced that they have partnered with multiple companies to help develop their new open graph timeline apps. Some of the notable companies included are airnb, Ticketmaster, and Path. It has been reported that up to sixty different companies have launched with the Open Graph API. The new open graph system will allow user to post items such as where they have traveled, when they have donated to a charity, or when they have purchased something online. It’s essentially the ability to create your own actions/verbs.
This was announced at the f8 in september, however many of these functions have yet to be implemented. Facebook’s explanation for this delay is that they are currently taking measures to prevent the saturation of the newsfeed and ticker with spam like messages.
In order to accomplish this it has been reported that Facebook will be manually approving all Open Graph apps. This new system gives companies yet another way to organically market products through Facebook.
